In our series #WeWillMeetAgain, we want to explore how meetings and events will evolve as a result of the incredible impact of COVID-19. Of course, as with so many other industries, one of the most critical areas will be implementing stronger measures around cleaning and sanitization.

As part of our own efforts to create a safe environment for our clients, visitors and guests, our team has been actively working towards earning the GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation. As the gold standard for clean and safe facilities, this would mean the Vancouver Convention Centre would join convention facilities across Canada to implement comprehensive disease prevention programs and cleaning protocols that effectively reduce the risk of spreading infection agents and combat biohazards.

In our latest edition of our series, we connected with Victor Lee, General Manager, and Scott Stevens, Manager of Innovation Technology, from BEST Service Pros, our official supplier of housekeeping services who are helping to drive our efforts forward.

We asked Victor and Scott, “What new cleaning practices will help create a safer environment for guests at meetings and events moving forward?” In their video, they discuss how proven practices like physical distancing and limiting room capacities will support innovations in sanitization to create spaces that are clean and safe for guests to occupy once again.
