VCEC Appoints Two New Sales Managers
October 18th, 2006 / NewsVancouver, BC (October 18, 2006) – The Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre (VCEC) has added two key members to its sales team, as the facility’s major expansion project continues to progress towards completion.
Diana Reid, Sales Manager, is responsible for business development in the Eastern US association markets. With more than twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry, Reid previously held sales management roles with the Residence Inn by Marriott, Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa and the Pan Pacific.
With over ten years of sales experience in the tourism industry, Jillian Smith is the VCEC’s new International Sales Manager where she is responsible for business development and positioning the facility in international markets. Smith, who hails from Brisbane, Australia, was formerly the Director of Business Development for Hospitality Marketing Concepts. Prior to that, she held a variety of sales management positions with Navigant International, Discover the World Marketing and British Airways.
“Both Diana and Jillian bring an ideal mix of skills and experience to the VCEC,” said Gayle Morris, VCEC’s Director of Sales. “Diana’s depth of experience and proven sales record will be crucial as she works with the eastern US region. And while the VCEC already has a solid global presence, Jillian’s knowledge and expertise will further strengthen our position in the international congress, trade show and exhibition markets.”
