August 1st, 2007 / News

Vancouver, BC (August 1, 2007) – The Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre (VCEC) has added a key member to its sales team as the facility’s major expansion project continues to progress towards completion scheduled for Spring 2009.

Amy Duquette has been appointed Sales Manager for Canada, where she is responsible for business development and positioning the facility in the Canadian association market. With more than twelve years of sales experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, Duquette joins the VCEC from Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel in Vancouver, where she was the Canadian Corporate Sales Manager. Prior to that, she was the Corporate Sales Manager at the Westin Bayshore, Client Services Director at CANSPEAK Presentations, and also held sales management positions at the Delta Pinnacle Hotel and the Chateau Whistler Resort.

“Amy brings an ideal mix of skills and experience to the VCEC,” said Barbara Maple, VCEC President. “Her depth of experience and high-performing sales record will be crucial as she works with the Canadian association market heading into expansion and beyond.”

Duquette serves on the Board of Directors for Touchtone Theatre Company and is a member of the BC Chapter of Meetings Professional International (MPI) and the BC Chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE).

About the VCEC
