VCEC Appoints International Sales Manager
October 18th, 2006 / NewsVancouver, BC (October 18, 2006) – The Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre (VCEC) has added a key member to its growing sales team, as the facility’s major expansion project continues to progress towards opening in late 2008.
With over ten years of sales experience in the tourism industry, Jillian Smith is the VCEC’s new International Sales Manager where she is responsible for business development and positioning the facility in international markets. Smith, who hails from Brisbane, Australia, was formerly the Director of Business Development for Hospitality Marketing Concepts. Prior to that, she held a variety of sales management positions with Navigant International, Discover the World Marketing and British Airways.
“Jillian brings an ideal mix of skills, experience, and a proven sales record to the VCEC,” said Gayle Morris, VCEC’s Director of Sales. “And while the VCEC already has a solid global presence, her knowledge and expertise will further strengthen our position in the international congress, trade show and exhibition markets.”
