You are invited! The Vancouver Convention Centre is hosting an Open House in the West building on Canada Day.
Explore the world’s first LEED® Platinum certified convention centre that just celebrated its fifth anniversary, learn about our many “unconventional” features and participate in fun family activities. All indoor Open House activities will run from 10 am to 6 pm in the West building (1055 Canada Pl.).
Highlights include:
Anniversary Avenue, Busy Bee Block and Community Corner
Enjoy arts and crafts, games, videos and more.
Learn about our unique five-year accomplishments, and our partnership with United We Can, where 100 percent of our beverage recyclables are donated to its Recycling Depot to support people with multiple barriers to traditional employment.
Bring your empty beverage recyclables to donate at our event.
Photo Contest – Share a photo on Twitter or Instagram from the Open House or a favourite Convention Centre memory with #SpaceInspires. All photos will be entered in a draw for prize packages with wildflower honey harvested from our beehives.
Barbeque with a View – Enjoy delicious barbeque fare and beautiful mountain and harbour views on our Pacific Terrace, where you will find Douglas Coupland’s Digital Orca. Food and beverage will be available for purchase from 11 am to 9:30 pm.
Cauldron Lighting – In advance of the Coast Capital Savings Fireworks Show, this 2010 legacy will be re-lit from 7 pm to 10:25 pm to celebrate Canada’s birthday. Join us in singing the national anthem at 7 pm!
In addition to the Open House, the Vancouver Convention Centre is the Venue Partner of Canada Day at Canada Place, where an exciting line-up of events is scheduled in our East building and the Jack Poole Plaza.
