In a spectacular display of Olympic spirit, PavCo and the Vancouver Convention Centre recently hosted two memorable cauldron lighting ceremonies at Jack Poole Plaza, setting the stage for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Imagine Van Gogh – The Immersive Exhibition recently celebrated its 100th day in operation in June, and it has since become a vibrant source of history, art and culture for British Columbians eager to have a unique live experience at a time when it’s needed the most.

To help make our virtual environments feel a bit more familiar, and to hold us over until face-to-face meetings return, we have created a collection of beautiful backgrounds featuring several of our signature spaces to use in our meetings online!

For this winter season, rather than displaying our usual holiday décor, we wanted the facility to better reflect what matters most to us: where we are, the community we are apart of and our commitment to sustainability. Through social procurement we were able to partner with a local social enterprise and artists to repurpose our existing decorations into new ornaments and recycled trees – a perfect fit, and an opportunity to add unique value to the holiday experience at our facility.

The Quest is complete! After 1,100 entries from British Columbians representing over 80 communities across the province, Convention Quest came to a close on Saturday, September 7th with our winner from Smithers, BC accepting her ‘VIP Vancouver Experience’ Grand Prize.

Set against a backdrop of North Shore mountains, the bold and beautiful Coastal Lunar Lanterns at Jack Poole Plaza cannot be missed. The larger-than-life lanterns are part of a new art installation to celebrate the Lunar New Year and will be available to view in the plaza next to the Vancouver Convention Centre from January 30 to February 18, 2019.

In its 9th consecutive year, the Vancouver Christmas Market is a staple on any Vancouverite’s to-do list over the holidays. Make your way down to the iconic Jack Poole Plaza at the Vancouver Convention Centre in the thick of December and you’ll be greeted by the most festive sights in the city with people pouring in and out painted with cheerful smiles.

A colourful parade led by First Nations performers, followed by masses of people flapping and squawking in bird costumes? Not your usual conference kickoff – but perhaps more meeting planners should take note.
