Vancouver, BC, October 12, 2018 – The Vancouver Convention Centre is proud to announce the opening of its new café and wine bar, LOT185. Overlooking Jack Poole Plaza with views of Vancouver’s famous Stanley Park and harbour, this new space will embrace the modern aesthetic of the Convention Centre while offering a casual dining experience for event attendees and Vancouverites, as well as a unique space option for meeting planners.

Inspired by the laid-back atmosphere of European cafes, and tapas and wine bars, the menu at LOT185 will focus on sourcing local ingredients while embracing the diverse landscape of British Columbia. An in-house bakery, overseen by Executive Pastry Chef Maurizio Persichino, will provide fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and other grab and go items during the day. Tapas and Neapolitan–style pizzas will be featured in the afternoon and evenings with a menu crafted by Executive Chef Mark Massicotte that reflects the multicultural flavours that can be found all around Vancouver. A BC forward wine and craft beer list, complemented by a selection of international wines, will be offered alongside a full coffee bar with ethically sourced beans from North Vancouver coffee roasters, Moja Coffee.

There is also great opportunity for planners to use this stunning space in imaginative ways to enhance their meetings.”

Extending over two levels, this beautiful space for 80 people was reimagined by the team at HCMA Architecture + Design to reflect the beautiful coastline on which it sits and embrace the natural aesthetic already reflected in the Convention Centre. As the world’s first double LEED Platinum certified Convention Centre, it was important that LOT185 reflects those environmental designs but also provide a welcoming and modern space.

“We recognize that many locals do not have the opportunity for culinary experiences at the Convention Centre unless they attend a meeting or banquet. We are thrilled to open the doors to LOT185 and look forward to sharing the talents of our Chefs and culinary team with attendees and all of Vancouver,” says Andrew Pollard, Regional Vice President, Centerplate – the Convention Centre’s official food and beverage hospitality partner.

LOT185 Café + Wine Bar will operate both in tandem and independently from the Convention Centre with its own entrance as well as entry points from inside the facility. The hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm, closed Sundays.
