WorkSafe BC Day of Mourning Ceremony April 28 (Jack Poole Plaza)
Every year workers, families, employers, and communities come together at ceremonies held around the province to remember those who have lost their lives to work-related incidents or occupational disease, and renew our commitment to creating healthy and safe workplaces.
On April 28, 2019, WorkSafeBC will be hosting the Day of Mourning ceremony at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Workers, families, and employers gather to honour the 131 workers in British Columbia who lost their lives in 2018 due to workplace injury and disease. Join us as we renew our commitment to creating healthy and safe workplaces for everyone. The Vancouver ceremony is taking place at Jack Poole Plaza on April 28 at 10:30 a.m., with the Olympic Cauldron being lit in honour of the day.
