Looking Back on 2020 at the Vancouver Convention Centre
Unprecedented and offering both hurdles and new opportunities in equal measure, 2020 was an incredibly notable year for the Vancouver Convention Centre.
The Vancouver Convention Centre is home to over 550 events a year – conventions, trade shows and other events of all shapes and sizes that connect people and ideas.
Just as we believe our facility is designed from top to bottom to inspire, the events we have the honour of hosting inspire us on a daily basis.
Our blog is dedicated to sharing ideas that inspire – from event innovation to stories about people and trends that elevate the event experience.
For the third entry of our #WeWillMeetAgain vlog series, we connected with Sherrif Karamat, President and CEO of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the world’s largest platform for business events strategists, to talk about the path forward for meetings and events professionals and businesses.
In our series #WeWillMeetAgain, we want to explore how meetings and events will evolve as a result of the incredible impact of COVID-19. Of course, as with so many other industries, one of the most critical areas will be implementing stronger measures around cleaning and sanitization.
Our new video blog series, #WeWillMeetAgain, aims to capture the ideas and perspectives that are now paving the way for how our industry will evolve as a result of the pandemic. Kicking off our series, Tahira Endean discusses how events can adapt to maintain the value of face-to-face interaction while incorporating new measures to help create experiences that are safer for those in attendance.
When you have thousands of passionate individuals come together made up of world leaders, influencers, journalists, youth, academics and advocates, it’s safe to bet that change for good is imminent.
The culinary side of a meeting or conference can have such a significant impact on an attendee’s overall experience. This is why keeping a finger on the pulse of the food and beverage sector continues to be priority for our culinary team at the Vancouver Convention Centre, especially as the tastes and choices of our guests constantly evolve.
Set against a backdrop of North Shore mountains, the bold and beautiful Coastal Lunar Lanterns at Jack Poole Plaza cannot be missed. The larger-than-life lanterns are part of a new art installation to celebrate the Lunar New Year and will be available to view in the plaza next to the Vancouver Convention Centre from January 30 to February 18, 2019.
