In fact, we had the capacity to accommodate the complex needs of the world media when our facility served as the Main Media Centre for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The Vancouver Convention Centre is equipped with over 7,000 network access points to provide voice and data communications in every location within the facility. As the facility’s exclusive telecommunications supplier, Bell Canada provides the following telecom services:

Digital Media

The Vancouver Convention Centre is a leader in Digital Media with 88 meeting room screens, 34 way-finding kiosks and 55 advertising screens. All of the digital media are networked to provide up-to-date scheduling information, as well as event branding and special messaging.

Digital Signs

You can reduce the carbon footprint of your event at the Vancouver Convention Centre by migrating from traditional printed signage to digital signage. Digital signs are bright, dynamic, interactive and do not need to be disposed of at the end of the event.

Advertising Screens

Sponsors and exhibitors, get more exposure at your event. Advertise your company and booth on our advertising screens to promote your products and services. We offer 55 dedicated advertising screens that display a combination of event scheduling information, as well as local and event advertising. These screens range from 4 7″ to 65” and are strategically placed throughout the facility in high visibility locations. Availability of these advertising screens is on a first-come-first-served basis. Customized Internet Kiosks The Vancouver Convention Centre offers 18 portable, free standing internet kiosks that can be branded as required for an event, for example with sponsor or exhibitor branding. These kiosks can be placed just about anywhere in the facility to provide quick and easy access to the internet or specific websites for delegates. This in-house solution can also save you the cost of shipping and setup of internet cafe computers.

Mobile Event APP

A mobile event APP can be customized for each event and is synched with the meeting room screens and wayfinding kiosks. Any updates to sessions are updated immediately on all three platforms. The APP can be programmed with sponsor and exhibitor details, as well as have PDF downloads, feedback surveys, and much more. No installation is required and yes, it even works great on Blackberry.

Enhance Your Event

Located on-site at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Riggit Services Inc. is the exclusive supplier of rigging services and the official supplier of specialty lighting services. Riggit offers innovative rigging systems for audio, décor, drapes and soft goods, displays, signage and banners, lighting, video production and specific effects. Services include consultation, rigging equipment rentals, design, installation/dismantle and on-site planning.

In January 2006, Rick Smith and Geoff McEvoy of Riggit Services received certification through the North American Entertainment Technician Certification Program Council (ETCP), which offers a program of rigorous certification for professional theatre and arena technicians. Riggit also won the “Best Achievement in Technical Support” Award from Special Event Magazine in 2005.
